Young Consultant Club (YCC) is part of ACEM’s new program specially created for young consultants. Young consultants are graduate engineers 40 years old and below and in full time employment with The Association of Consulting Engineers Malaysia (ACEM) panel members firms. All the information about ACEM can be find at ACEM website at
www.acem.com.my. The membership of YCC is free. However, all the young engineers must apply to be a membership of this club and their respective companies must endorse the applications.
The objectives of this club are to encourage young consultants to participate actively in ACEM, to encourage young brains to appreciate the need to make consulting engineering business environment more conducive and also to develop young consultants to become good professional engineers.
The activities that proposed under this club are to organize seminars, workshops, and training for the development of young consultants. Other than that, it also provides support and assistance to ACEM and the Council in their programs and activities. President of ACEM shall supervise all the programs under this club.
The YCC will benefit ACEM in the manner like as a resource to support and assist ACEM programs and activities. Other than that it also give benefit as a resource of potential ACEM members and leaders.
The YCC will be launched at the 45th ACEM Annual General Meeting and 2008 ACEM Annual Dinner on 21st June 2008 at Nikko Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.
Other than YCC, there have another organization that have similar programs like YCC such as International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC) – Young Professionals Management Training Programme (YPMTP), International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage (ICID) – ICID Young Professionals, and The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM) – IEM Graduate and Student Section – The Young Engineers Section (G&S - YES).
